Where Can I Buy Walking Dead Final Season
The Walking Dead kicked off the second half of Season 6 in February with the episode "No Way Out." As the title implies, it was a gory episode — and the bloodshed hasn't stopped there. Producers have made it clear that audiences should prepare for some pretty major deaths in the rest of Season 6. So which of the show's may soon find their lives in jeopardy? There's a good chance it'll be at least one or two of these five candidates, below.
5. Maggie
Lauren Cohan — who plays the female half of beloved couple Glenn and Maggie — started an Internet frenzy in December when she debuted a new short haircut that was wildly different from the long, wavy 'do she normally sports on the show. Fans immediately expressed worry that Cohan cut her hair because she will no longer be appearing on the show (and therefore doesn't need to worry about character continuation). It's not an entirely crazy theory — producers promised some difficult deaths this season and killing off a favorite and pregnant character would certainly count as difficult.
On the other hand, it might be too extreme of an option. After all, the show only recently revealed that Maggie is pregnant with Glenn's baby, and it would be kind of a strange choice to drop that storyline too quickly. Plus, as fans have already pointed out, there is a point in the comic book where Maggie and Glenn cut their hair together as a way of coping with their new life. Maybe that explains the new 'do?
One thing's for sure: If the show does stick close to the comics for the back half of Season 6, it'll probably be a rough time for Maggie, even if she lives.
4. Morgan
Morgan hasn't been back for that long and his character brings a certain optimism to an otherwise dark and brutal show. Unfortunately, The Walking Dead isn't exactly known for being good to the morally righteous of the group, and Morgan's newfound pacifism doesn't exactly fit in with the battles we're about to witness in the second half of Season 6. In the midseason finale, viewers saw Morgan let one of The Wolves go only to get knocked out by that same man. Whether he will also be killed by the very person he saved remains to be seen.
There's also the possibility that the show will follow the comic storyline, in which Morgan dies from blood loss after having his arm amputated. With the show tackling the battle against the herd next, there's a good chance this scene could play out in much the same way on TV.
3. Glenn
Oh, Glenn. He's already been through hell and back, but sadly, his future isn't looking much brighter. As everyone already knows, Glenn was brought back to the show after several weeks of uncertainty over whether his character was still alive or not. Now he's back, but it's probably not for much longer. As fans of the original comics know, Glenn dies (for real) at the hands of Negan, the big bad that the show will introduce in the Season 6 finale. His death is gory and brutal, but it's an iconic moment in the series and one that really showcases the extent of Negan's cruelty.
If the show decides to follow its source material, there's a strong possibility if the scene will take place this season and seal Glenn's fate for good.
And yet… as viewers know, the show does deviate from the comics sometimes and given that they just brought Glenn back, wouldn't killing him again so soon be kind of a letdown? Plenty of fans have already speculated that the show will keep Glenn safe (for now) and instead put another fan favorite character in his place. Which brings us to….
2. Daryl
Most fans missed Norman Reedus's Daryl in the first half of the season and showrunner Scott Gimple has promised that we'll see much more of him in the latter half. "We put Norman through his paces," Gimple recently told TV Insider. "He's very scary in this back half, but there are a couple of moments where he made me laugh out loud. There is a whole lot of Daryl and a wide variety of Daryl."
That may sound all well and good at first, but think about it: Wouldn't it be just like The Walking Dead (and any good drama, really) to show us all these new sides of Daryl and remind us just how much we love him only to then kill him off? After all, if someone's going to take Glenn's place at the end of Negan's bat, it has to be someone who will be just as emotionally devastating to see gone. Plus, Gimple promised that there will be some "hard left turns" from the big comic-book deaths this season. Daryl certainly definitely fits that bill. There's also the matter of just how in-demand Reed is as an actor. He's been taking on more side projects lately and has already signed on to a new motorcycle series for AMC.
Still, while there's some solid speculation pointing to Daryl's death, it would definitely be an unpopular move. Case in point? Fans have already started a mantra in preparation for the event: "If Daryl dies, we riot."
1. Jessie [Update: Dead!]
The midseason finale left us on a cliffhanger, with Rick, Jessie, and her kids exiting Jessie's home covered in walker blood and guts in an attempt to go undetected among the walkers. Things are going fine — until Sam starts to panic and draws attention to their group. If that sounds familiar, there's a good reason. That's the exact same way that Jessie's death plays out in the original comics.
In those, Jessie's son is attacked by walkers and Jessie herself is bitten in the commotion which follows. As the undead close in, Jessie won't let go of Carl's hand and Rick is left with no other choice other than to hack off her arm.
Given how the midseason finale ended, it seems safe to say that the show will stick to the source material and finish out the rest of this scene (and Jessie's death) in the same way. AMC more or less confirmed this – and Jessie's fate — when it released this synopsis for the upcoming episode "No Way Out": "While trying to escape Alexandria, Rick and his group meet trouble when sudden noise draws walkers towards them with what could be fatal consequences." [Update, 2/22/16: As expected, Jessie and Sam both died in "No Way Out."]
